Hindi music
The language used in these Hindi music numbers may often be more than just
Hindi. This is actually the current trend in bollywood songs.
There was a
time when usages of the various raagas (which are considered as a pride of
India) were used in this form of Hindi music. Composers used to take a lot
of pride in this kind of compositions. However, the scenario changed pretty
fast.
The Bollywood numbers started being influenced by the Western music. This led to the usage of instruments like the guitar, drums etc. thus the usage of the traditional instruments (considered as the symbol of India’s rich culture and heritage) got gradually replaced by the foreign music instruments.
Ghazals also constitute a substantial part of the Hindi music. Ghazal is such a poetic form, which consists of a refrain and rhyming couplets. Every line of the ghazal shares a common meter. Ghazal is basically a poetic form whereby the beauty of being in love is talked of along with the pain of separation. It is quite an ancient form, which originated in the pre-Islamic Arabic verse of the sixth centaury. The extraordinary capacity flaunted by this form, since ancient times, of expressing joy of love and pain of separation has led to its tremendous popularity. And this popularity has led to the growing demand of ghazals in Bollywood music items as well
The rich variety of Hindi music offered by India is catching the attention of the entire world very fast.
