Introduction:

Egyptian music download has been always been an important part of the culture of Egypt since ancient times. Egyptians credited the creation of music to the God Thoth. Some of the earliest representational evidence of musical instruments of the Egyptian age dates back to the Predynastic period but there is more evidence that is attested to the Old Kingdom when flutes, harps and double clarinets were often played.

The other instruments that were in use in that period were the lyres, percussion instruments, lutes and lyres. The musical Cymbals were a frequent accompaniment in dance and music as they still do in Egypt today. Many of the rhythms, features and instruments that form part of ancient Egypt are still retained in today by Egyptian folk music including the traditional Sufi rituals.

The structure of Arabic music is defined by maqamat that very loosely resembles Western modes, and the rhythm of Arabic music is governed by the Awzan that is formed by combinations of unaccented and accented rests and beats.
