Viennese Music
Music is a perfect art which completes our life. Our lives would not have been
same without the sound of music. Vienna is the capital of Austria. It is also
the largest city in the country and has always been one of the major centers for
cultural developments in the Central Europe. Vienna is probably a home to more
classical music performers than any other city in the world.
The city had been synonymous with music for centuries. The musical heritage has
been preserved right to the present day.
Music is a very colorful thread that women the entire fabric of our lives.
Viennese music is a direct reflection of the music of the society. It has
been used over centuries to deliver messages in a poetic medium, a fine art and
in an entertaining manner. The best part about Viennese music is that it does
not restrict in a way the movies or graphic arts can. The listen is allowed to
create their own world of imagination when they are listening to music.
Another thing that is portrayed very clearly and beautifully by this for
m of art is the past and the present. The words and compositions give an
indication as to how things were and a view of where the society is heading
now.
The city has been a home for many great composers of the classical music era
during the early 19th century. Some of these artists were Joseph Haydn and
Ludwig van Beethoven. This was termed as Viennese classicism. There are many
musical organizations in the city that have been working hard in promoting
the Viennese music.
These organizations are operating since early 19th century for musical
development of the music of Vienna. The Vienna Boys Choir is one such
institute that has a long history dating back to 1498 in helping the young
kids learn about the traditional music form of their country and take an
active part in reviving it.
The most popular form of the Austrian folk music is Viennese schrammelmusik
which is generally played with an accordion and a double necked guitar. This
form of music arose as a mixture of rural Austrian music along with
Slovenian, Hungarian, Moravian and Bavarian music.
The people of these countries were immigrants who crowded the slums of
Vienna and contributed to the famous music style. This music form has got
the name schrammelmusik which comes from the most popular and influential
performers in schrammelmusik’s history, brothers Johann and Joseph Schrammel.
In every step that we take, music places a bricks on the foundation of who
we are. Viennese music has always been well appreciated by people across the
globe and this exquisite form of music should never be allowed to die. Our
fore fathers have given us a special gift of musical and it is our
responsibility to carry forward their great works and make a name of
Viennese music so that it is remembered and liked by all.
