Papiamentu Music
Papiamentu music is a classical and traditional music of Curacao. The Papiamentu
music was very famous and popular in Curacao. Many traditional and cultural
Papiamentu songs were sung by great singers and played by great musicians in

The Papiamentu music is a mixture of the native African and European
elements of music. The music of Papiamentu is influenced with the trends
from the neighbouring countries like Venezuala, Columbia and islands like
Cuba, Santo Domingo, Haiti, Martinique, Trinidad and Glaadeloupe. Papiamentu
music is known for their typical waltzes that is a kind of music called
tumba. Tumba music is made with the Conga drums that is an instrument.
There are two remaining islands Sint Eustatius and Saba that are very small
islands smaller than the islands of Aruba. Bonaire and Curacao. Sint
Eustatius is a very small island that it has only one nightclub by the name
of Largo Height Disco and so the nightlife in this island is very little.
The inhabitants in this island make the most of their nightlife with the
Papiamentu music and songs.
They enjoy dancing on the sheets of this island and to celebrate they block
the whole street that was called roadblocks. They would dance on the streets
with playing the Papiamentu music at very high volume on the car stereos. On
the other side Saba was very different from Sint Eustatius Island as the
nightlife in this island was wonderful and excellent.
Saba has various number of discos, nightclubs and restaurants where a wide
variety of hip hop music, disco, soca music, kompa and meringue music was
played where people danced and made merry in groups.
Another island Sint Maarten use to have the most beautiful Carnivals in the
world. It was then tradition in which millions of people would take part as
great musicians and dancers. They would all be dressed up in a funky and
colorful dresses and danced in groups on the beats of Papiamentu music. The
carnival was held in mid April and also to celebrate the death of the King
Moni Moni. They would make his statue and burn him on the road and with that
they would also burn his cruelty.
There were also many nightclubs and casinos where much popular Papiamentu
music was played and these nightclubs were at the famous places in this
island. The famous numbers would be played for the dance that include Boo
Boo Jam and Lago Hight which is located in the part of Sint Maarten. The
most popular recent casino band is king Bo Bo who is known as the king of
Calypso.
The Tumba is the most internationally renowned kind of Papiamentu music. The
first and the main composer to write music for the lyrics of tumber music
was Jan Gerard Palm. Tumba was known in the early 19th century and it is now
a popular part of the Papiamentu music. The Papiamentu music was very famous
and popular music and it really touched the hearts of the people who heard
it. It was so wonderful and melodious that it still touches the hearts of
millions of people and is still alive in millions of hearts..
